The New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu has assured Ghanaians that fee paying at the Senior High Schools will soon be a thing of the past when the party is voted back to government.
The former Deputy Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs in the Kufour administration noted that, in line with this an Akufo-Addo led government 2013 will take the burden of hustling to pay school fees from kindergarten to the SHS level.
Mr. J.B Danquah Adu said education must not be exclusive to the rich but should be accessible to all and sundry without recourse to economic status in society.
J.B. Danquah was convinced that “if Ghana can budget and pay billions of cedis as judgment debt to individuals and other entities, then it will be a great disservice for anyone to say we cannot pay or cater for our children education from KG to SHS as a country”.
He made the observation when he presented 42 white marker boards and pens at a cost of GHC 10,000 to Ofori Panyin Senior High School at Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North constituency.
He noted that the era where teachers teach with black board and white chalk which later resulted in allergies and potential health risks, should be a thing of the past.
He added that, the biggest legacy to give to future leaders is to equip them with knowledge and best of education; hence all should support and make the educational system attractive and better.
