MEDEAMA VS INTER ALLIES - CAPE COAST

A 2-1 win at WAFA has pushed Medeama up to second position on the league table with 10 points, three shy of leaders Ashgold and ahead of Hearts of Oak and Kotoko by virtue of a superior defensive display. This, despite the yellow and Mauve playing a game less. On match day 7, Medeama host poor travelers Inter Allies at the neutral ground, Cape Coast stadium, and will look to build more momentum for their campaign.

Inter Allies will need to discover their away form sooner rather than later, as coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s side are yet to pick a point on the road this season. They lie fifth on the league log with a nine point total haven conceded eight goals in three away games.

Medeama have won all their three home games and will be emboldened by their performance against WAFA plus their Allies patchy away record.  A win for the Coach Samual Boadu’s side will enable them to have a tilt at the league title

ASHANTIGOLD VS ADUANA STARS - LEN CLAY

It’s the most consistent team so far this season against the most prolific side in the league. Ashantigold suffered their first league defeat away to Liberty Professional but coach C.K Akonnor will hope that result, will catalyze a reaction from his boys this weekend when they play in form side Aduana Star at home.

This, could be the biggest test defensively for Ashgold, as they visitors who occupy ninth position have been on rampage in their last few games. 10 league goals in their last two fixtures make Aduana Stars the most efficient side so far albeit not producing away from home. The Dormaa based club lost on their last road trip and are yet to score on the road.

There are a few teams as effective at home as Ashantigold. The home side are yet to drop a point at the Len Clay Stadium this season and maintain their position at the top of the table with a 13 points tally. The miners are one of the high scoring teams in the league with eight goals, with half of that number coming at home.

If you add the six goals in their last continental fixture, Aduana Stars have found the net 16 times in the last two weeks, which should be frightening for their opponents. Both teams have got more than enough quality in their ranks to win this one; and it’s a game that should produce a lot of goals.

HEARTS OF OAK VS ELMINA SHARKS - CAPE COAST

Hearts of Oak recovered from their defeat at Berekum to beat Wa All Stars by three goals to one to reclaim top four position. This weekend they face Elmina Sharks at the Cape Coast Stadium as they seek to find the consistency to be credible title challengers.

Hearts are in third place and two points above their opponents who sit in the sixth position with eight points.  Their Achilles heel is the backline of the team. The Phobians defence have been breached eight times after scoring the same number of goals.

Elmina Sharks have lost once in the five games they’ve played and managed a one zero win against Inter Allies in their last fixture. Notwithstanding their low scoring rate, the Sharks’ defensive resolution has been crucial this season. They currently boast the most talented defence in the league after conceding just two goals.

Coach Ben Acheampong’s side are such an organized outfit that, they’ve played with greater resilience away from home.  Hearts of Oak are yet to taste defeat against Elmina Sharks in the premier league but a win for the Cape Coast-based side will be extremely tough whiles a draw for the visitors will be a decent result. 

DREAMS FC  VS  ASANTE KOTOKO - DAWU

Dreams FC have failed to record a win in their last three fixtures and reside in the top half of the table. Despite their seventh position, the Dawu lads need a win to steer clear of danger as they are just two points above teams in the lower reaches of the tables. On match day seven, coach Karim Zito’s side will lock horns against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at home.

Kotoko’s efficacy in front of goal saw improvement for the first time this season, as they managed to score two goals in their last fixture against Ebusua Dwarfs. Dreams are not much of a threat going forward, having scored four goals so far but coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side could be in for a difficult afternoon as the Porcupine Warriors have only mustered a point from three away games.

The Fabulous boys won their last two fixtures against Dreams FC and will look to register their first win on the road when they visit Dewu this weekend. Meanwhile, Dreams would need victory to lift their confidence as they’ve got some tricky looking fixtures coming up against Liberty Professionals and Aduana Stars.
