Students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and Central University College have visited Origin8 Limited as part of their activities to acquaint themselves with industrial practice.
The students from the Department of Graphic Designs, UEW; and the Marketing Students Association from Central University were last week taken through the working procedure of an integrated marketing communications company.
The UEW students, who were the first to visit, were taken through how the various departments of the company function to develop advertising campaigns.
The Marketing Students Association from CUC visited the following day and were also taken through the work processes in the organisation.
Welcoming the students on both days, the CEO of Origin8, William Ansah said the company is always willing to share its 20 years of industry experience with students to enable them appreciate the dynamics of the industry.
Mr. Ansah further advised that it is important for students to have industry experience beyond the regular internships and national service through such visits.
“We are always happy to receive students from any university who are willing to learn from us. These visits broaden their (students) horizon while in school and also help them know what to do even before completing their programs,” he noted.
According to the CEO, Origin8 will continue to serve as a knowledge hub for students in the country “because we have built a strong brand for the past 20 years and continue to remain relevant in the industry.”
The students were later taken through series of presentations by the creative and client service departments on what they do.
According to the Creative Coordinator, Moses Okai, Origin8’s creative philosophy is anchored on the 4Ws and these drive the team to develop their creative materials.

Mr. Okai took the students through how the 4Ws inspire their creative thinking and direction.
According to him, creativity is essential in any advertising campaign, hence working in an advertising agency such as Origin8 will help anyone unearth his/her potential and creativity.
The Head of Client Service, Mavis Donkor also took the students through the role of the client service team.
She stated that the client service department is the fulcrum of the organisation because it coordinates the work of all the departments in the organisation including scouting for businesses.
Origin8 hosted the students in their Labone-based office. The students were taken round the offices, given the opportunity to ask questions about operations and work ethics.
