Deputy Roads Minister Anthony Karbo has told the police he has no knowledge of attempts to use the President's name to fraud 'investors.'
Karbo was mentioned by the President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi who is under investigations by the Criminal Investigations Department for defrauding by false pretence.
Mr. Karbo who is also Lawra MP is being treated as a suspect after he was recorded by an undercover journalist allegedly claiming to help some 'investors' see the president if they pay $5m.
Anthony Karbo responded to a police invitation to interrogate him over the scandal which has been hyped as containing the downfall of big names in sports and politics.
He came to the Criminal Investigations Department in Accra with the company of his lawyer Gary Nimako, and spent 20 minutes writing a statement and responding to queries.
The police are however treating Karbo as a person of interest and not a suspect, Joy News Parker Wilson reported.
The investigations began after the President reported the alleged conduct of Nyantakyi to the police after viewing the video done by Anas.
The award-winning journalist whose work has led to the sacking of more than 20 magistrates and circuit court judges is set to premier his latest work at the Accra International Conference Center on June 6, 2018.
