The 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has rounded off his eight day tour of the Brong Ahafo tour on Tuesday after visiting the Techiman South and North constituencies.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his team toured the Asutifi South, Atebubu-Amantin, Pru, Sene, Nkoranza North, Nkoranza South, Wenchi, Tain, Kintampo North and Kintampo South constituencies.
The tour of the Brong Ahafo region afforded Dr. Bawumia the opportunity to interact with inhabitants of various communities in the constituencies on pressing issues affecting their livelihoods and communities.
Most importantly, the tour allowed Dr. Bawumia to spread Nana Akufo-Addo’s message of hope with particular regards to the Free SHS education pledge, and the NPP’s intent to make agriculture more worthwhile through a holistic programme aimed at mechanizing agriculture and dealing with the various constraints the industry faces.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would on Wednesday head to the Northern Regional capital, Tamale to commence a month long tour of Northern Ghana.
The NPP Vice-Presidential Candidate’s tour of the three Northern Regions would be expected to focus on the NPPs Northern Development Programme, the NPP’s main vehicle to develop the north and bridge the gap between the South and North, and the key pillars of education, agricultural transformation and massive infrastructural development.
Dr. Bawumia's message would also focus on the Free SHS pledge of the NPP, revitalizing the NHIS, and many other issues concerning the livelihoods of the people of the North.
Dr. Bawumia would be ushered into the Tamale metropolis by a cross section of party faithful and inhabitants of the city to be preceded by a rally at the Zugbeli Park which would be addressed by many elders and front liners of the NPP in the three Northern Regions.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would tour twenty (20) constituencies in the Northern Region for sixteen (16) days before heading for the Upper East and Upper West Regions for similar engagements.
