The Convention People’s Party’s (CPP) Parliamentary candidate for Trobu-Amasaman Constituency of Accra, has called on the Mahama Administration to revive collapsed factories established by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah or he should resign, if he failed to do so.
Mr. Thomas Abroni says factories established during the CPP’s administration headed then by Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah which provided employment to the people, are now hopeless.
“Aboso Glass Factory, Bonsa Tyre Factory, Tarkwa Gold Refinery, Kade Matches Factory, Bolgatanga Meat Factory, Pwalugu Tomatoes Factory, Ejisu Jute Factory, Kumasi Shoes factory, Tema Sanyo, Boafuor car builders etc., are few of the factories that have been abandoned by successive governments,” Mr. Abroni noted in a release on Tuesday.
He said “Government needs to get serious and make sure that people who want the downfall of this country are brought to book. The blame game, reckless political pronouncements are too much and someone must rise up to the occasion and put things in order,” he observed.
The CPP candidate described as regrettable, President Mahama’s failure to make a pronouncement on efforts made to retrieve sold or abandoned factories built during the first republic, “rather he said what has been repeated over the years”.
Mr. Abroni said a CPP administration will address the gross injustices that have emanated from lawlessness, corruption, greed and misplaced sense of entitlement in our society today.
“The CPP administration will undertake interventions that will transform our society for the sake of the common good. The three pillars of social transformation, sustainable economy and social justice, dubbed the S-cubed, will shape our plans, policies and programmes for good governance of Ghana,’ he said.
