The planned National Delegates’ congress of the United Front Party was rocked by confusion following a decision by the Central regional Police Command, not to give the party the go-ahead because they don't have permit.
The party last month sacked its presidential candidate Kwasi Addae for alleged corrupt practices and scheduled Saturday's congress at the Cape Coast GNAT Hall to endorse the candidature of one Kwaku Owusu Antwi for the position.
National Chairman of the UFP, Nana Agyenim Boateng said they will defy the order because they have duly notified the Police of the congress.
Mr. Agyenim Boateng told Joy FM the event was not an election but just an endorsement and therefore wondered why the decision by the police to refuse them the go-ahead.
He blamed the dismissed flagbearer Kwasi Addae for having a hand in the latest developments and maintained they will go ahead and endorse their new flagbearer.
