The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin-North, Kennedy Agyapong has appealed to voters to vote against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) due to broken promises and failed policies.He said the ruling NDC’s inability to fulfill their promises and deliver on policies had worsened the economic situation for most Ghanaians. Mr Agyapong, a leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), said electorate should vote for change on December 7th to restore hope and confidence and alleviate the economic suffering.He was addressing a forum held by the opposition NPP at Aputuogya in the Bosomtwe Constituency on Monday.The forum was to reach out to the electorate and sellout with the party’s campaign message.He said Ghanaians should not allow themselves to be deceived with lies and propaganda.He cautioned prospective voters not to sell or hand-over their voter identification (ID) cards to what he claimed were “some unscrupulous people going round and trying desperately to disenfranchise voters”.He also appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) to make sure that all regions, districts and polling centres had enough supply of election materials on the voting day.The EC, the Assin North MP added, should do everything to ensure smooth conduct of the polls.Madam Elizabeth Agyemang, MP for Oforikrom, said the NPP would deliver on every single promise they had made to the people.She said the NPP would aggressively promote education, tackle corruption, stop the payment of illegal and questionable judgment debts and put the economy on the real path of growth.Mr Stephen Amoah, a member of the party’s national communication team, said Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, when voted into power would provide effective and strong leadership to transform the lives of the people.Mr Bernard Antwi Bosiako, the NPP Constituency Chairman, urged the people to be vigilant on the day of the elections to prevent cheating and other electoral malpractices.He called on members and supporters of the party to intensify their door-to-door campaign to explain the party’s manifesto to voters.
