The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has picked up signals that certain media houses, groups, and individuals have determined to make the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) a political punch bag and make its Management and Board and a target for bad press for political purpose and effect. One such effort is aimed at spreading false accusations, raising false alarms, misrepresenting data and questioning the integrity of the leadership of the Authority. The Authority wishes to advise individual and institutional members of this network to desist from such acts of falsehood. The Authority will continue to work seamlessly for, and in the interest of all resident in Ghana, as mandated by law, and looks forward to the co-operation of the general public as we continue to build a more responsive, award-winning, and internationally-respected social health insurance scheme together.Issued by the Strategy & Corporate Affairs Directorate
