General Secretary of the opposition NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has posited that president Mahama performed abysmally on Thursday night when he took his turn at the Institute of Economic Affairs' (IEA) Evening Encounter with presidential candidates.According to him, president Mahama sounded like an ‘O’ level student who was answering questions for examination marks.Participants who thronged the venue for the encounter described President Mahama's performance as fairly good. However, speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam on Multi TV on Friday, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie noted that president Mahama failed to defend his achievements as leader of government, but rather told Ghanaians what he will do if given the nod in 2013.He stressed that the president’s answers to questions were awkward and described his performance as unimpressive because to him, President Mahama sounded like an opposition leader rather than a president seeking renewal of his term of office. He said president Mahama’s answer to the free SHS was uninspiring because the children of Ghana deserves better than building schools and school uniforms. He rejected the NDC’s manifesto promise of expanding infrastructure and access to quality education saying access also means making the fees free for all so the NPP’s policy is better.
