Deputy Campaign Coordinator for John Mahama 2012 Campaign says if Ghana were a company and had President John Mahama and Nana Akufo-Addo vying to be CEO, Ghanaians will choose Mahama over the New Patriotic Party flagbearer.
Dr Omane Boamah made the analogy in an interview with Joy News’ Evans Mensah on Wednesday.
He was speaking on the results of opinion polls, two of which have put the president as the likely winner of the December elections.
According to Dr Boamah, the poll results are in sync with the scientific and reliable poll the NDC itself is conducting.
Whilst conceding that Ghana is no paradise, the Deputy Youth and Sports Minister said the NDC government is well on track with its promise of delivering a Better Ghana.
He said under the Mills-Mahama administration, the government has reduced the maternal mortality rate, eradicated guinea worm and improved the lives of the people in no small way.
He added under the Mahama-Amissah-Arthur administration, a lot more regional hospitals will be built, and several other social interventions implemented.
Citing comments made by the presidential candidates at the Kumasi declaration, Dr Boamah said President John Mahama demonstrated that he is a true peace campaigner and a unifier.
He insisted the government has done enough but will not be complacent in efforts at retaining power.
But the Director Communications of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akomea said they are undaunted by the results of the opinion polls.
He told Joy FM the polls are only a light to their path but are no determinants as to who will win the elections in December.
He said the election is a choice between the status-quo and change, adding, at time when there is load shedding nationwide; when gas shortage has become a norm; when the results of BECE, SSSCE are at the lowest; when the cedi is depreciating at a faster rate the government certainly cannot boast of a Better Ghana.
He stated the NPP is working hard to win the December 7 polls hands down without cause for a run-off.
