Thousands of disgruntled New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters have hit the streets at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, Tuesday, in protest over what they say is widespread fraud in Friday’s poll.
The party lost by a little over 300,000 votes in a close election which saw incumbent president John Mahama win by 50.70 per cent.
But the NPP insists the results were manipulated.
On Tuesday, thousands of the supporters clad in party paraphernalia converged at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in a wild demonstration.
They chanted party slogans and accused the EC of colluding with members of the ruling party to rig the polls.
The demonstration has caused serious vehicular traffic on the roads linked to the Kwame Nkrumah circle.
Scores of security personnel are also patrolling the area to ensure law and order.
