The Northern Youth for Nana Akufo-Addo (NOYONAA) has congratulated Nana Addo for the strong showing at the just ended December 7, 2012 polls and losing albeit questionably to President-elect John Dramani Mahama.According to the National Co-ordinator of the group Mr. Abdallah Rauf, Nana Akufo-Addo’s love for Ghana and respect for democratic tenets has contributed to the peace and stability for Ghana after the questionable declaration for John Mahama as winner by the Electoral Commission. He added that, the NPP and Nana Addo’s decision to contest the decision of the EC in court is a mark of statesmanship and courage worthy of emulation by the youth. Akufo Addo’s political career has been marked over the years by a struggle for respect for human rights and justice and his decision to pursue this electoral dispute by legal means sets him apart from his contemporaries elsewhere.“We NOYONAA will continue to believe in your vision for Ghana and the North in particular, and will stand by you in your legitimate effort to root out injustice from our society. Nana Addo is an example of courage and tenacity in fighting for what is right and the group will continue to believe in you”, he added.Mr. Rauf also lauded the gains made by the NPP in the Northern region in terms of the Presidential vote and the increase in parliamentary seats from 3 to 10. He indicated that, this success is a great motivation for NOYONAA to work harder in the future to consolidate this fortune and break the jinx that the Northern region is a stronghold for the NDC.
