An aide to former President Rawlings has described as irresponsible comments by the Head of Policy Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the presidency Dr. Tony Aidoo, faulting Mr. Rawlings for calling for investigations into the 2012 elections.Mr. Kwabena Andoh said Dr Aidoo's unwarranted attacks on the former president were designed to please President Mahama and court his favour.Dr. Aidoo last week accused Mr Rawlings of mischievously creating the impression that the elections were manipulated to secure a win for the NDC.But Mr. Andoh, who is personal Secretary to the former president, in an interview with Joy News, said the call for an investigation was legitimate.Mr Rawlings' call for investigations into the electoral fraud alleged by the opposition New Patriotic Party, he explained, was to ensure that the integrity of the 2012 elections was beyond question.Mr Andoh said the call was also aimed at ensuring that all doubts the opposition may have raised about the polls in the minds of Ghanaians were eliminated.
