The Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor is asking for protection from the President of the Republic, following several threats on her life.
According to her, the threats intensified after she refused to return the Toyota Tundra vehicle handed her by the presidential candidate of the Progressive People's Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom for campaigning.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, the GFP flagbearer indicated that she was forced to travel to Accra in disguise because of the threats.
Madam Akua Donkor also called on the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye, to help ensure her safety.
Madam Akua Donkor in an earlier interview said she would not return the Toyota Tundra pick up vehicle the PPP gave her.
She said she did not force Dr Nduom to recruit her into his campaign team and hand her the car.
Speaking in the twi language, Madam Donkor had insisted she went round campaigning on his behalf; telling the people that, 'a vote for Paa Kwesi Nduom is a vote for her'.
She said she could have died because of him [Paa Kwesi Nduom].
She also alleged at the press conference that Dr. Nduom and Nana Akufo-Addo had connived to declare the 2012 election rigged.
