The Minority in Parliament this morning boycotted a ceremony to inaugurate a three member Advisory Council set up to assist the Transition Team.
Vice president Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur inaugurated the council which will be chaired by Speaker of Parliament, Joyce Bamford-Addo.
The two other members are Prof Ewurama Addy and Prof Akilapa Sawyer.
Justice Bamford Addo is optimistic the transfer of power would be smooth.
“This function is as a result of the coming into effect of the Presidential Transition Act, Act 845 which was piloted by both sides of the house and I am very happy to inform you that Minority Leader and many members of the Minority contributed copiously to the passage of the bill into law.
“So they are aware about the proceeding and contents of this one and I do not think that participating in the inauguration of the council members to advice the transition team is anything political or partisan that they should have avoided.
“But life still goes on,” he said.
Adom FM's Kwadwo Fodjour who was present in Parliament reported that the Minority were held up in a caucus meeting and could not take part in the inauguration.
