Ahli will not be pursuing Ghana international Agyemang Opoku after he failed to arrive on time for his trial at the club.
The 23-year-old striker was expected to have a trial last November, but the appointment was delayed until this week.
However, Opoku failed to arrive in time again, only for Ahli’s website to reveal that the club are no longer interested in his services.
Opoku was believed to be one of several foreign strikers on Ahli’s shortlist as the Reds continue their persistent search for a quality non-Egyptian signing.
The African champions have parted company with Brazilian Fabio Junior before loaning out Oussou Konan to Saudi Arabia’s Hajr.
Mauritania’s Dominique da Silva – the only non-Egyptian on board in the meantime – is on the verge of being offloaded as well.
