The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling on the Electoral Commission (EC) to abandon its proposed elimination of indelible ink usage in the upcoming election.
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC's Director of Elections and IT stressed that the Commission should also reconsider its decision to close polling stations at 3 pm.
The former Communications Minister asserted that the NDC is committed to ensuring that all necessary measures for a free, fair, and peaceful election are diligently followed.
Dr. Boamah stated that the NDC will vehemently oppose any attempts by the EC to disenfranchise Ghanaian voters or manipulate the crucial electoral process.
In making these demands, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, January 9, he said the NDC aims to safeguard the integrity and inclusiveness of the electoral process, signaling its determination to uphold democratic principles in the upcoming election.
"We insist that the EC must use indelible ink on December 07, and close polls at 5 pm, not 3 pm."
