Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has visited the Odorkor Methodist polling station in the Ablekuma North constituency following reports of chaos and disturbances.
The Inspector General of Police arrived with his entourage at the station to assess the security situation on the ground. He has been touring several polling stations across the constituency to ensure a smooth electoral process.
At the Odorkor Methodist 1 polling station, he held a brief discussion with police officers and Electoral Commission officials on duty to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Earlier today, the voting process at the Odorkor Methodist 1 polling station was suspended due to chaos where unidentified men arrived in a pickup vehicle and forcefully entered the premises, despite the presence of police officers.

Eye‐witnesses report that the assailants overpowered the security detail and launched an assault on several political figures, including former MP and ex‐Fisheries Minister Mavis Hawa Koomson.
The group reportedly headed to the polling area and began assaulting individuals at the scene. Security officials have since taken control of the area, and calm has been restored.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has condemned the violent incidents saying the development is a betrayal of the democratic principles the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pledged to uphold when they won power in the 2024 elections.
