Aburihene Visits Tigo

A high-profile delegation from the Aburi Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, led by Aburihene Nana Gyan Kwesi, has paid a curtsy call on Tigo Ghana, to officially thank them for supporting the just-ended Aburi Odwira festival. Tigo presented a cash donation and a number of branded souvenirs to the Aburi Traditional Council during the Odwira festival. The Tigo Festival Train also made a stop at Aburi for the first time during the festival and treated the citizens of the area to a loaded package of entertainment featuring a bevy of Ghanaian gospel, highlife and hip-life artistes. Nana Gyan Kwesi expressed delight with the ‘Tigo Festival Train’, saying that it was by far the most entertaining event during the entire festival celebrations. He added: “I sincerely believe that when the Festival Train visits us again, the euphoria in the town will be bigger than what we experienced this year.” Chief Technical Officer of Tigo Ghana, Obafemi Banigbe expressed Tigo’s delight at the visit by the chief and his elders. Mr. Banigbe said “Tigo is always excited at the privilege to join in celebrating and promoting the rich Ghanaian culture. Festivals offer us one of the best ways to show our appreciation to the people of Ghana, to identify with them and give back to them in ways that are most touching and relevant .our ultimate goal is to simplify and make life better for all. Hence, our new brand purpose of ‘Smile, you’ve got Tigo.” The Head of Marketing, Tenu Awoonor stated that Tigo will continue to partner the Aburi Traditional Council to make next year’s 25th Anniversary Celebration successful. Others members of the delegation included the Queen Mother, Nana Korkor Ketasi and the Personal Assistant to the Chief, Paul Owu.
