The District East Sales and Distribution team of Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has been recognized at the 6th Marketing, Sales and Distribution Conference for SABMiller Africa held recently in Sun City, South Africa.
The Conference which is organized annually by SABMiller Africa forms part of a broader strategy to integrate its sales teams across Africa to discuss market trends, strategies and good practices across the region as well as reward and recognise excellence amongst outstanding sales teams.
This year’s conference which was on the dubbed, “Believe” saw ABL’s District East Sales and Distribution Team, led by Mr. Samori Gambrah emerge as the Most Improved District in Africa for the 2013/2014 financial year.
The team was recognised for their exceptional skills in driving the growth of ABL’s brands and increasing sales in their territory to ensure an overall success of the business.
ABL’s East District territory covers Accra West, Eastern, Volta, Northern, and Upper East and Upper West regions of Ghana.
The Team was adjudged the best out of a total of thirty six (36) Districts that make up SABMiller Africa’s sales teams in the sixteen (16) countries originally shortlisted for this prestigious award.
At the same event Mr. George Amoah-Attah, ABL’s National Activations Manager, whose career with ABL spans seventeen (17) years was also honoured as a ‘Master’ for his consistent performance, innovation and dedication to his role and contribution to the total growth of the business.
The two awards were amongst the top five (5) awards presented at the conference and are an indication of ABL’s commitment to enhancing its distribution channel, growing it products into premium brands and to be market leaders in the brewing industry in Ghana.
Mr Michiel Oerlemans, the Sales and Distribution Director of ABL, in congratulating Mr. Amoah-Attah and Mr Gambrah stated “This achievement is not for everyone. The Master award is reserved for only a few who have consistently performed and added value to the business for at least 15 years. George, we are proud of you and thank you for your contribution to the business.
He added, “To be awarded as the most improved District in Africa is no small achievement and is a confirmation of Mr. Gambrah and his team’s commitment to ABL’s current success and future plans.”
These and other awards over the years continue to inspire ABL to reach for further growth as it progresses towards completion of the first phase of its multi-million US Dollar expansion project later this year.
