A twenty six year-old trader is in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after she was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen by her ex-boyfriend, a first year fashion student at Accra Polytechnic.
The incidence took place in Dunkwa-Dominase in the Central region.
Elizabeth Tweneboah was brought to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital with her intestines gushed out after what doctors at the hospital described as ‘operation’ done on her by her ex-boyfriend, Isaac Oduro.
She has a deep cut from the nipple to the middle of her chest.
Doctors at the hospital say only surgery can help in efforts to save her because of the severe nature of the wounds she sustained.
Speaking to Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah on her hospital bed at the Komfo Anokye Hospital’s Emergency Center, the weak looking Elizabeth said she received a call from her ex-boyfriend who apparently returned from school to carry her diabolical plan at 11 p.m on Thursday to meet him for a short discussion.
But she was surprised when at the beginning of the conversation; her ex-boy friend pulled a sharp object she suspect was a knife, cutting her deep into her abdomen.
She courageously held the gushed intestines and walked about 500 meters to her brother’s house for support.
Elizabeth believes she was saved by divine intervention.
"I hope God wants me alive and that is why I am still alive’’, she said in a weak voice.
According to her, she was surprised at the unfortunate development.
"I never anticipate anything of that sort happening because we have been on talking terms after I broke up with him some months ago.’’
Elizabeth’s brother, Nana Arhin Tweneboah who first rushed her to the Dunkwa-Offin Government Hospital before she was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital first said, her sister broke up with the fashion student about three months ago but have been on talking terms.
He wondered what might have motivated the attack on her sister.
"My sister told me her ex-boy friend called her while she was asleep for a message", he said.
"According to my sister, the ex-boyfriend stabbed her immediately she came out of her room to meet him and he immediately fled the scene".
Meanwhile, police at Ayamfuri in the Central region say efforts are been made to arrest the suspect.
