Preisdent of Cote d'Ivoire delivering his speech

He prays for good health for the president and the very best for Ghana.

He concluded by reiterating his best wishes to Akufo-Addo. He thanked the people of Ghana for receiving citizens of Cote D’Ivoire during difficult times.

He appealed  to the political leaders as well as the citizenry to support president Akufo-Addo as he takes over as president.

“Indeed, with democracy there is no peace and without peace there is no sustainable development.”

He recounted the pleasant relationship they have had, adding that he is pleased with what they have achieved together for the consolidation of peace and security.

He said the people of ECOWAS will always be indebted to you for the important work he accomplished as chairperson of ECOWAS.

"Long live Ghana, long live ECOWAS, Long live Africa."

On behalf of the authority on heads of states and governments of COWAS we congratulate you, your vice president and the people of Ghana.

She looks forward to hosting Akufo Addo in may to Liberia in May when the heads of states summit will be held.

Madam Sirleaf says ECOWAS has no doubt that you continue the actions that makes Ghana a peaceful country.

“We welcome you to ECOWAS and look forward to the contributions you will bring to our discussions

She commended the Electoral Commission and all stakeholders for conducting preaceful, fair and transparent elections.

I see exciting times ahead. The rule of all will be apllicable to all and not jsut some.

I assure you who that i will advance my conviction with civility. I will call for responsiblity. this is my solemn pledge.

Newly elected speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Ocquaye has arrived at the Black Star Square.

Ex President John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama as well as ex vice president Kwesi Amissah Arthur and his wife, Matilda Amissah Arthur are all present at the grounds.

Former presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor together with their spouses are also seated.

Hundreds of people are expected at the Black Star Square for the official investiture of Ghana's President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Saturday.

The event will feature parades and cultural display performed before the crowd that would be made up of some African heads of state and Presidents from some European countries.

Nana Akufo-Addo will be sworn in by the Chief Justice, Theodora Georgina Wood as required by Ghana's Constitution. 

President-elects are expected to be sworn in by January 7, a month after the nation's general elections on December 7.

So far, 15 heads of state have arrived to grace the occasion, among them are presidents from Benin, Egypt, Ethiopia, Zambia, Liberia, Equitorial Guinea, Togo.

There will also be representatives from 13 states across the world in the country to witness Akufo-Addo's investiture. 

President of Cote d'Ivoire, Alassane Ouatara, who is a special guest to the ceremony arrived about 30 minutes ago.
