Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah says his team is fully prepared to face Mali on Thursday. The Black Stars threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with DR Congo in the opening Group B game at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. The disappointing results have awaken critics of the four-time African champions who aim to end a staggering 31-year wait for an African title in South Africa.Players and supporters of the team have bemoaned the missed opportunity by the Black Stars to get their campaign off to a flying start following the opening draw with DR Congo. But coach Appiah believes his team has recovered from the opening set back and are set to jump-start their campaign with a win over Mali though admitting to the herculean task ahead.“After the first game, the technical team and playing body, almost everyone was not happy but at the moment we have psyched ourselves up and we are really prepared for the game,” he said.“As to any anxiety, we believe it is not going to be easy but we are going to give our best.”A win will certainly lift Ghana above their Thursday opponent who currently top Group B while a defeat will spell doom for the Black Stars who are one of the favourites to win the competition.
