Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency, who has been nominated as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has pledged to work tirelessly to protect and manage the country’s lands and natural resources effectively.

In a statement expressing his gratitude to the president for the nomination, Mr Buah assured the public of his readiness and commitment to the role.

He said, "I am profoundly honoured to be nominated as the Minister Designate for Lands and Natural Resources by President John Dramani Mahama. I am committed to serving our dear nation with dedication, integrity, and hard work to promote the efficient use of our natural resources, protect our environment, and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth and development."

Mr Buah thanked President Mahama for the trust and confidence placed in him, adding, "I extend my deepest gratitude to President Mahama for the trust and confidence reposed in me to lead this vital ministry. I am determined to work diligently to fulfil the mandate of the ministry for the greater benefit of our beloved country, with God as my anchor."

He emphasised his resolve to prioritise the sustainable management of the country’s rich natural resources, ensuring they contribute positively to long-term national development.

As part of his vision, Mr Buah aims to enhance collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and local communities to address pressing environmental issues, while maximising the economic benefits derived from the country’s land and natural resources.

Mr Buah's extensive experience, especially in the oil and gas sector, positions him well to oversee the balanced exploitation of Ghana’s resources. His focus will be on promoting local content, supporting green initiatives, and advancing policies that ensure the responsible use of resources for the welfare of future generations.

He once served as Minister for Energy and Petroleum from 2013 to 2017 under then-President John Mahama.
