Avnash Industries Ghana has been honoured at the 8th edition of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Industry and Quality Awards.The award - National Quality Award 2019 (Bronze Category) was in recognition of the firm’s adherence to quality standards in its edible oil refinery in Tema.The 500 MT per day edible oil refinery converts crude palm oil into various fractions, principal of which is vegetable cooking oil.“With vitamins to address deficiencies and a golden colour to match the Gold Coast, our Golden Drop is truly the mind, body, and soul of Ghana.” The company said in a statement.The awards ceremony was organized by the AGI in collaboration with Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), to publicly recognize businesses in the manufacturing and service sectors that have adopted quality standards in their operations.It is also to encourage industries to constantly ensure that quality standards were applied and maintained in their operations to make Ghanaian products and services competitive on the local and international markets.Avnash is a Ghanaian company with its main interest in agribusiness processing and its roots in its motherland since 1960. The agribusiness comprises – Edible Oil Refining, Soap & Personal Care Manufacturing, and Rice Milling is one of the largest investments in West-Africa offering premium products ranging from cooking oil, laundry and bathing soaps and rice.Recently, the company has been in the news for its campaign on the consumption of local rice which has catch on at the length and breadth of the country.
