Residents of Awoshie, a suburb in Accra have threatened to take legal action against a resident who rears cattle in the area.According to them, since the emergence of the cattle three months ago, the movement of residents especially school children around New Kwashiman, Glover Street, Amangoasi and Barnor Street has been endangered. They fear of possible attack on their lives since the cattle move freely to every corner of the vicinity to graze without a herdsman. The Assembly Member for the area, Honourable Ransford George Mensah who supported the move by the residents said efforts to locate the owner of the cattle have proven futile. He revealed that they are working in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the police to help in apprehending the defiant resident who disregarded the laws of the metropolis to rear cattle right in the capital city.Hon. Mensah added that the presence of the cattle in the area is causing fear and disturbances among residents in the community.
