Police in Bawku are investigating arson attacks against supporters of Deputy Education Minister Mahama Ayariga.
The Minister, who is also a parliamentary aspirant for the Bawku Central seat, told journalists at a news conference last week that 16 of his supporters have had their houses burnt down.
The incidents, according to him, were recorded from November last year and the early part of this month.
Mr. Ayariga said he believed the attacks were politically motivated because the victims are of different ethnic backgrounds across the region.
One of the victims, Adams Musah, recounting his ordeal to JOYNEWS, said he received a call one night and was informed that his shop was on fire.
He revealed that was the third time his property had been set ablaze.
