Defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce cruised to the semi finals of the women's 100m, comfortably winning Heat 7 (11.01s) and reminding the contenders she is still the one to beat.
Jamaican teammate, Shericka Jackson (11.06), Ivorian Marie Josee Ta Lou (11.08), and American Sha'Carri Richardson (10.92) who are all gunning for Fraser-Pryce's title this term, broke no sweat enroute to the semi final, winning their respective heats.
The women's semi final heats was the expected highlight of the morning session on Day 2 and it did not disappoint, with St. Lucian sprinter, Julien Alfred taking heat 1 in 10.99s. Great Britain's Daryll Neita, and Gambia's Gina Bass, qualified behind her.
The USA's Brittany Brown took heat 2 (11.02), with 2019 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith also sailing through behind the American.
Poland's Ewa Swoboda ran the second fastest time in the heats to take the win in heat 3, with the USA's Tamara Davis and Dutch athlete N'ketia Seedo running a new Personal Best (11.11) to confirm her place.
Cote d'Ivoire's Murielle Ahoure-Demps, finished in a disappointing 6th and failed to qualify for the semi finals of the World Championships for the first time in her five appearances.

If the first three heats had any elements of unpredictability, the last four did not, with Jackson, Ta Lou, Richardson and and Fraser-Pryce jogging to the finish line to take heats 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively.
The semi finals and finals of the women's 100m are scheduled for Monday August 21, with the semis at 18:35GMT and the finals 19:50GMT.
