Former Black Stars player, C.K. Akunnor’s reputation is growing as a coach in Ghana but he says trying to build a career in coaching is a frustrating experience. The former Black Stars stalwart is keen to lead a trend where Ghanaian players with many years at the top level of European club football can give back to the game through coaching but admits the process can be a bit too difficult and frustrating. “It is very, very hard,” the former Wolfsburg captain told KickOffGhana.com. “I’ve lived in Europe for a very long time so there are certain things I can’t handle and certain things I do not understand. “We are always moving five meters, five meters backwards but I am learning. It’s frustrating but this is our system and I understand but hopefully with time things will change.” The frustrations notwithstanding Akunnor’s Sekondi Eleven Wise have looked strong, fit and composed under him and club insiders say he is doing a terrific job at getting the best out of the players. On Wednesday they marched runaway league leaders Accra Hearts of Oak in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Ohene Gyan Stadium and preserve his unbeaten record against the top two sides in Ghana football.
