President-General of the West African Nobles Forum, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso 1, has urged Corporate Ghana and government not to be weary in provision of support to orphanages and the vulnerable society even though Covid-19 has waned profits and ravaged businesses.
Speaking to Joy Business after donating food items and financial support worth GH¢50,000 to the Countryside Children’s Welfare Home at Bawjiase in the Central Region, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso 1 remarked the urgent need for some government assistance to persons in need.
“Yes, I have been blessed to put a face on these children. They need this support. Covid-19 has affected our profits as businesses but that should not prevent us from putting a smile on their faces. On May Day, I have, together with my family, made these donations to the orphanage. I trust that more help will be on the way for them,” he stated.
The items included dresses and footwear, bags of rice and maize, packs of sanitary materials, gallons of cooking oil, skin and hair care products, boxes of fruit juice and biscuits, boxes of bathing and washing soap, confectioneries, packaged water and bags of onion among other confectionaries.
He said for 13 years, “I saw it as a responsibility to support the Country-Side Children’s Welfare Home which found it challenging to feed the children at certain times, hence the reason for the constant benevolence.”
“I have adopted some children here and I have sponsored many of them through universities and senior high schools for the very reason that, they don’t need to be deprived of their basic rights because they are orphans,” he said.
The Country-side Children’s Welfare Home is a privately owned Orphanage home located in Awutu-Bawjiase in the Central Region with over 120 children. The Home has accommodation, school and sporting facilities for the children.
