The tripartite committee comprising organized labour, employers and Government has announced a new minimum wage of GGC4.48.This represents a 20 per cent increase over the current minimum wage of GHC3.73.The increase takes effect Thursday February 9, 2012.Employment Minister E.T Mensah who announced this at a news conference Wednesday, said the committee also agreed the minimum wage should be tax exempt.He said government will ensure that the new minimum wage is implemented by employers.
