The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Monday congratulated the People's National Convention (PNC) for a successful national delegates congress in Bolgatanga on Saturday.
A statement signed by Bede Ziedeng, Deputy General Secretary, DFP, also congratulated Dr Edward Mahama for wining the flagbearership of the PNC for the fourth time and all other officers elected to steer the affairs of the party for the 2008 elections.
"The congress itself is a clear indication that democratic culture and practice is continually being deepened in Ghana where people are prepared to submit themselves to a comprehensive contest in elections", it said.
The statement wished contestants who lost the elections better luck next time and expressed the hope that they became "graceful losers" by accepting the results in good faith.
"Whiles we wish the PNC well in their quest to contribute to the democratic development of this country, we hope all political parties will be guided by the need to protect the supreme interest of Ghana", it said.
