The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) is cautioning women against over indulging themselves in the festive mood.
He said criminals often lurk around pubs, hotels, beaches and other public places where unsuspecting people visit to have fun.
DOVVSU’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tetteh told Joy News the public must be vigilant and take their personal safety seriously.
"The advice which we are giving everybody in the Christmas celebration, especially the women is that you have to be careful, When you are going out you have go out accompanied by a friend or a family," she stated.
