Motorbike riders will from next year be required to write exams before their motor riding licenses are issued to them. The Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, Justice Amegashie says the move is aimed at helping to reduce road accidents. He said other measures to be introduced next year include computer based driving tests which would hopefully reduce the human effort spent in processing documents. Mr Amegashie was speaking in Accra at the launch of his third book on road safety and transport. The 245 page book titled, The Vehicle Owner and Driver: the Law and Conventions on Road Transport outlines various measures in improving the transport system in the country. He said the computerized testing is intended “to eliminate the human factor considerably so when you undertake the test [and you pass, there can be no doubt].” Source: Joy News/Ghana
