With a strong network of supporters and a portfolio of impactful projects, Eleos Cares Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has been dedicated to empowering young minds and transforming communities.
Eleos works to support various community projects around the world. These initiatives are locally managed with an emphasis on healthcare, education and well-being, and crisis support
As part of the initiative, Eleos donated a lot of items during the COVID-19 pandemic to two hospitals in the Eastern region of Ghana - Abirew community hospital and Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
From July 17 to July 25, 2024, an 11-member Humanity First (HF) USA team travelled to Ghana to conduct medical training. At the end of the course, two Butterfly iQ Ultrasound devices were donated to participants courtesy of Eleos Cares Foundation (worth USD 10,000).
In addition, Eleos Cares Foundation graciously donated CPR mannequins, wound packing kits, and trauma tourniquets to support the CPR and First Aid Course (worth $1,500). In a world where education is the key to unlocking opportunities, the Eleos Cares Foundation has been a beacon of hope for deserving students in Ghana and some parts of Africa.
Some of these needy but brilliant students sponsored by Eleos are now studying for a BSc in Petroleum Engineering, a BSc in Midwifery, a BSc in Real Estate BSc in Physician Assistance, and a BSc in Biochemistry, a BSc in Business Administration, as well as a Doctor of Pharmacy.
Eleos Cares Foundation has made a significant impact by sponsoring 40 students from prestigious universities in Ghana, including UG, KNUST, KTU, UCC and UDS since its inception in 2019.
This year, the foundation has taken its commitment to education by sponsoring 14 students, comprising both freshers and continuing students making a total of 20 students under scholarship now.
The Public Relations Officer of Eleos Cares Foundation, Yohane Aboagye Apenteng said “We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal development. By providing financial support and mentorship to deserving students, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the individual.”
The Country Director of Eleos Cares Foundation, Mr Acheampong Apenteng indicated that some of the students they assisted in the past have gone on to pursue higher education outside the country, earning prestigious master's and PhD degrees. “These achievements are a testament to the foundation's unwavering dedication to empowering young people through education”.
He also said “I would also like to extend my gratitude to the United States Board of Eleos Care Foundation for their unwavering support. The Board Chair, Wahiba Estergard and the brain behind Eleos, Patrick Gilliland. Your tireless efforts for our mission are truly commendable, Ayekoo! [Congratulations]”
As we continue to empower young minds and transform communities, we invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Together, let's unlock the full potential of our youth and create a brighter future for generations to come” he added.
