Micheal Akuffo is confident that his Kotoko side will emerge victorious against Medeama in the impending FA Cup final.
The 29-year old was key as the Kumasi-based club scaled the semi-final of the competition for the second straight year after beating Aduana Stars 3-1 on Friday in Sunyani.
Kotoko scored in both halves of the game through former Ebusua Dwarfs defender, Christopher Bonney, before Godfred Saka scored a consolation. But Michael Akuffu made victory certain for the champions to see them through to face Medeama, who beat Hearts on Sunday.
“The team has done really well because it wasn’t easy playing against Aduana Stars, especially looking at our recent performances which have left our supporters worried," Akuffo told Adom Sports.
"I think the team is gradually picking up the pieces and I’m happy. The entire team is happy and the supporters are also happy because we deserve it. But we need to work harder to win something for them at the end of the season.”
“Our next opponent is Medeama in the finals but I’m optimistic we will defeat them this time around. I’m waiting to defeat them and win my second FA cup in Ghana."
Kotoko, who have now made it four finals in five years, will seek revenge against Medeama on August 30, two years after losing to the Tarkwa-based side in the 2013 final.
