The Ghana Premier League is likely to have first time winners in consecutive seasons, as FC Samartex edge closer to the title.
The Samreboi based side are six points clear of their closest challengers, Aduana Stars and Medeama SC, and would be champions if they win their next game.
With the Ghana Premier League using head to head as the first point of a tiebreaker, Samartex edge out both Medeama and Aduana in that regard.
This means, with three games to go, a win for Samartex in their next game - at home against Bibiani Gold Stars, would confirm them as champions for the 2023/2024 season.
However, Amadu Nurudeen’s side may yet still become champions even if they fail to beat Gold Stars at the weekend, provided their result matches those of their closest title rivals.
Medeama host relegation threatened Kpando Hearts of Lions, while Aduana face a tough trip to Bechem United.
Samartex boast of the league’s best defensive record, conceding just 24 goals in their 31 games so far this season.
