The semi-final line-up of the MTN FA Cup has been confirmed after a dramatic weekend of quarter-final action that saw two matches decided by penalties and a late extra-time masterclass seal the final spot.
Medeama SC were the last team to progress, thanks to a sensational extra-time hat-trick from youngster Kelvin Nkrumah in a 3-0 victory over Attram De Visser FC on Sunday evening at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The Division One League side frustrated Medeama for 90 minutes, forcing the game into extra time before Nkrumah broke the deadlock in the 109th minute. He struck again three minutes later and then converted a penalty in the 114th minute to complete a memorable hat-trick.
Earlier at the same venue, Dreams FC edged past Heart of Lions 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Seedorf Asante gave the Kpando side the lead in the 34th minute, but Suraj Seidu equalised at the stroke of full-time with a well-executed free-kick routine to force extra time.
Dreams FC eventually held their nerve in the shootout to advance.
In Bechem, Nations FC also progressed after beating Berekum Chelsea 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The quarter-finals began on Saturday with Aduana FC cruising to a 3-0 win over Techiman Liberty Youth. Goals from Daouda Ben Sidibe, Alex Boakye and Emmanuel Marfo secured the victory.
The results set up semi-final clashes between Medeama SC and Dreams FC, while Nations FC will face Aduana FC as the battle for the domestic cup intensifies.
