The Ghana Football Association has said it is not responsible for Black Stars related expenditure.
The Association has been criticised after details of its proposed budget for the Black Stars World Cup Qualifiers were made public by the Sports Ministry.
At a press conference on Tuesday, sector Minister Kofi Adams disclosed government's decision to slash the budget from $2 million to $1.3 million.
In an interview with Oyerepa FM, the GFA's Executive Council member, Oduro Sarfo said they are not responsible for Black Stars related expenses.
"When Black Stars budgets are approved, the funds are paid directly into the Ministry's accounts, not the GFA's.
"So lets not twist the narrative to make it appear as though the GFA crafted these budgets to line its own pockets."
Among the items scrapped was a $10,000 allocation as winning bonus for each member of the Black Stars management committee.
A $5,000 allocation for fuel has also been scrapped.
In 2022, GOIL signed a two-year sponsorship with the GFA, providing the association with $100,000 in cash and and additional $100,000 worth of fuel vouchers.
The agreement was expected to have ended in October last year. However, the GFA still brands its pitch panels for competitions at venues with logos and colours of GOIL, suggesting that the two are still in business.
Ghana will face Chad in N'djamena at 1 PM on Thursday, before taking on Mali in Accra on Monday at 7 PM in separate Group 1 World Cup Qualifiers.
