Scores of residents at Sodom and Gomorrah, (Old Fadama) in Accra have been displaced following a fire outbreak Monday morning.
A kiosk caught fire and spread to other wooden structures nearby, residents told Joy FM’s Jefferson Sackey.
The incident which happened close to the Odaw River left many homeless as they wailed over their loss while others tried to salvage what they could of their belongings to safety.
Deputy Regional Fire Commander, ACFO P.K. Donkor who was at the scene with other fire officers, said access to the blaze was difficult but said his men have been able to control the fire.
The highly populous Sodom and Gomorrah has suffered a number of destructive fire outbreaks previously.
