But for the timely intervention of the Fires service there would have been another fire disaster at the Central Business District in Accra. Myjoyonline.com has learnt that service personnel were able to put out the fire that started just within the precincts of the Makola market, Tuesday evening. The fire was said to have started in the evening just behind the STC station in Tudu, Accra. It is still not clear the cause of the fire. It comes barely three days after the Kantamanto market which is only a few meters away from the Makola market was also reduced to ashes following a wild fire which swept through the entire stretch of the market. There was no major casualty in Tuesday's fire incident and the extent of damage is said to be minimal.
