Savings and loans Company, First Capital Plus has secured Bank of Ghana's approval to operate a commercial bank.
The financial institution was given the new status by the central bank on 30th August 2013.
The approval brings the number of commercial banks in the country to 27.
First Capital Plus has over the years been operating like a universal bank. But with the approval, it is expected to efficiently operate as a fully fledged commercial bank.
Established in 2009, First Capital Plus currently has 13 branches across the country.
