The Board of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing company has passed a resolution to suspend the Chief Executive officer of the company, Madam Frances Essiam.
The decision was taken Tuesday after a board meeting chaired by Frank Boakye Agyen.
The meeting held at the Robin Hood hotel at Spintex, Accra discussed urgent matters affecting the productivity at the manufacturing company.
It is not clear yet if Madam Frances Essiam was present at the meeting.
The meeting was originally expected to be held at the offices of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing company but the Chief Executive Officer is alleged to have prevented the meeting from going on.
Business at the company has come to a standstill following tension between the Frances Essiam led management and the Board.
Over 60 workers of the company have been asked to stay home whilst customers waiting to do business were left stranded, Tuesday.
Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni who was present at the company reported the gate and premises of the hitherto busy company was shut and isolated with no sign of business going on.

According to him, about 20 customers were turned away with a “no gas” inscription boldly written at the precincts of the company.
Beyond the tranquillity of the company’s premises is a surge of chaos, accusation and counter-accusation at the top level management of the company, Manasseh has learnt.
The Finance and Accounts Manager, Julius Opuni Asamoah has been sacked by the management over some alleged procurement breaches but he has petitioned the Board accusing the CEO, Frances Essiam of some malfeasance.
The board called a meeting at the company's premises to discuss the issues affecting the company but had to change the venue of meeting after Madam Frances Essiam allegedly stopped the meeting from going on.
According to Manasseh Azure Awuni, three issues were considered and discussed at the board meeting including a query to the CEO by the board for allegedly disposing of obsolete equipment without the knowledge of the board; the petition written by the dismissed Finance Manager.
The Board meeting eventually came off at a hotel and a resolution was passed to suspend Frances Essiam.
She is yet to officially comment on the matter.
