Referee Julian Nunoo has been rewarded with a brand new Hyundai Elantra saloon car after emerging as Referee of the Season for 2022/23.
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon announced this as the flagship award at the maiden GFA Awards event which was held at the UPSA Auditorium on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Referee Nunoo emerged as winner ahead of Rustum Senorgbe and Dr. Imoro Osman who were also outstanding last season.
According to the GFA President, who handed over the car key to Referee Nunoo, the award is to motivate all referees to put up outstanding performances during subsequent seasons and to improve officiating in all leagues.
Emmanuel Dolagbanu was also named as assistant referee of the season while Gloria Sena Kumedzro won the Female Assistant Referee of the season.
Rita Nkansah Boateng also emerged as the Female Referee of the Year.
Mr. Michael Ayeh and Madam Alice Ayine were named as Male and Female Match Commissioners of the Season, respectively.
