Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan failed to complete Tuesday’s training session over an injury concern.The Al Ain striker had his right thigh heavily strapped with ice on the sidelines as he watched his teammates train at the Accra Sports Stadium.The 27-year-old picked up a knock while with his UAE club.He however proved his fitness when he lasted the entire duration of Al Ain’s UAE Super Cup defeat to rivals Al Ahli last week.The Ghana captain however pulled out of Tuesday’s session after feeling pains in his thigh.He was immediately withdrawn to the sidelines perhaps as a precautionary measure before having a huge pack of ice strapped around the affected area.The Ghana team doctors refused to give any more details on the status of the injury until further examinations are conducted.An injury to Gyan will serve as a massive blow to the Black Stars just days towards the deciding 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia.Ghana are currently top Group D by just a point and only need to avoid defeat against the Chipolopolo to secure progress to the final stage of the qualifiers for next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
