Ghana has dropped from 112 to 114 in the latest World Bank doing business report.
The World Bank doing business report looks at how the regulatory and business environment has been improved to make it easier for entrepreneurs to start and operate business in 189 economies around the World.
It measures and tracks changes in regulations affecting 11 areas; starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency and Labor market regulation.
The report shows that Ghana has not being doing that well when it comes to improving the environment to make it easier to start business as compared to other countries sampled in the report.
It shows that it is now more difficult for firms in Ghana to get access to credit when compared to 2014.
The decline in Ghana’s position in doing business, is coming at a time when a similar report by the World Economic Forum saw Ghana go down by 8 places to 140 when it comes to Global Competitiveness rankings.
