The Ghana Football Association has sent their heart felt condolences to the family of the referee Kyei Andoh who died last Friday.
His death was reported five days after fans assaulted him during a third-tier two game in the Western Region.
The Ghana FA has come under pressure to crack the whip on the perpetrators of such barbaric act.
Although an autopsy report is yet to come that the referee died as a result of the beatings he received, the Ghana FA regrets what happened.
“We will take this opportunity to send our condolences to the family of Kyei Andoh his father, mother and his wide chain of loved ones,” Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie-Daara said.
” It’s a very serious issue and the FA is waiting on the autopsy before we can firm out any step to take.
“There are going to be stiff punishment meted out to fans who misbehave at our stadia.
“We have such measures in place already in the league but we could look more into jailing people for football violence.”
