The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Digital Centres Limited (GDCL), Christine Ansong, has explored possible partnerships between Ghana and Rwanda in technology and innovation following a working visit to Norrsken House Kigali, one of Africa’s foremost entrepreneurship hubs.
Ms. Ansong visited the hub on Thursday where she was received by Abraham Augustine, the Ecosystem Manager.
Mr. Augustine conducted her on a tour of the facility and briefed her on Norrsken’s operations and startup ecosystem.
Norrsken House Kigali serves as a launchpad for startups in Rwanda, offering co-working spaces, mentorship programs, and investor access. The hub currently hosts startups across key sectors including fintech, agritech, healthtech, and social innovation.
During the visit, Ms. Ansong interacted with several founders who shared how Norrsken’s support structure has fueled their growth.
Discussions with Mr. Augustine focused on establishing stronger connections between Ghanaian and Rwandan entrepreneurs through joint programs, knowledge exchange, and collaborative startup accelerators.
Ms. Ansong observed that Norrsken’s model—built on community, collaboration, and sustainability—offers useful lessons for Ghana’s own digital centres.
“The culture of open interaction among founders, investors, and mentors here is inspiring. This approach could serve as a model for future expansions of Ghana’s digital ecosystem,” she noted.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by GDCL to learn from successful digital ecosystems across Africa and strengthen regional partnerships that advance innovation, job creation, and youth empowerment.
