Some members of the Zongo community in Kumasi are threatening to demonstrate against the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital over the raging saga of a 'dead' but missing body of a baby.

They say the hospital is dragging its feet in assisting the police unravel the mystery behind how bodies of three babies including that of their relative went missing after being declared dead at the hospital.

Hospital authorities cannot trace body of the baby boy and two others after they were declared still-born close to two weeks ago.

Mother of one of the dead babies, Suwaiba Abdul Mumin, insists she needs the body of her baby for an Islamic burial even if it is charred or mutilated.

An orderly named only as Mumin is already in police custody assisting with investigations, whilst nurses on duty when the bizarre incident occurred are being questioned by the police.

But the dissatisfied kinsmen want to see more.

Abdul Raman speaking for his agitated Zongo neighbours, smells something fishy.

"Why should it be that for the nurses, police have to provide a letter before the nurses will be released but when it came to the cleaner, [he] was handed over immediately? From the way things are going they are making us think the baby is not dead.", he told Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor.

He detailed plans for the demonstration saying it will be "low-profile" and intensified as their demand remains unmet.

Although the hospital has spoken to the family in a bid to resolve the mystery, the bottomline according to the family of the missing baby, is to see the 'dead' body.
